St. Catherine of Siena Widowed Helping Others

Widowed Helping Others W.H.O.

We have started a new ministry at St. Catherine of Siena called WHO (Widowed Helping Others) and would like to invite St. Clare parishioners (men and women) who are widowed to join us.

The WHO (Widowed Helping Others) Ministry invites men and women who are widowed to join us every first Thursday of the month at 6 pm, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, room 316 for wine, food and fellowship.  For more information, contact Barbara Dobson, stcatherineswho@gmail.com, 770-833-8088.

We are patterning our ministry after St. Ann’s WHO (They actually started it about 15 years ago).  Widows and widowers from all over the Archdiocese have joined in this ministry.  When my husband died in 2005, there was nothing on this side of town, so I found this ministry at St. Ann’s.  It was a life saver for me and I have been involved with them ever since.  I have met so many wonderful friends who helped me forge ahead with a new single life.

So, I’m finally giving back….I thought it was time to start one on this side of town.  We have been meeting for about 6 months at St. Catherine’s—- the first Thursday of each month.  We are incorporating other activities during the month; and St. Ann’s WHO will be inviting us to some of their outside activities or field trips in the future since we are new.
